Booked a queen room with Wi-Fi and cell. The staff were super friendly throughout our stay. The location was amazing, near to Dar Es Salaam and mainland safaris as well as other beaches. It also was right on the beach.

the location is stunning with beautiful views of the ocean and the sunset and a beautiful white beach where you can walk and look at all the different shells. We spent a lot of time swimming and there are also some nice things to see when you snorkel. Our room was super comfortable and, like the rest of the hotel, stylishly furnished. So many cool features of upcycled furniture and decorations. the place feels very peaceful and quiet, just exactly what we needed after the otherwise quite busy places we visited. Great food too! We will definitely be back and I can recommend Mama Root to anyone who is looking for tranquility and beauty. Mama and Baba Root were lovely hosts, thank you so much.
Absolutely nothing to say about dislikes. 👍.

The room I stayed in at Mama Root was absolutely delightful. It had a private bathroom with a refreshing shower and complimentary toiletries. The best part was the breathtaking sea view, which added an extra touch of magic to my stay. I also loved the cozy seating area, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings.
Personally, I found the seating area a bit small, but that's just my preference. Others might still find it enjoyable.

Had the most amazing Christmas at this beachfront hotel! The rooms were beautifully designed and always spotlessly clean. Loved the cozy atmosphere created by the mood lighting. The host was super friendly and made us feel at home right away. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the vegan options. The hotel is located in a tranquil spot, perfect for relaxation. We enjoyed watching the fishermen and the stunning views of the town. The daily campfire in the garden added a special touch to our evenings. a memorable and enjoyable stay.
The only downside was that the hotel doesn't serve lunch, so we had to venture into the village or find another hotel for a midday meal. However, this was a minor inconvenience and didn't significantly affect our overall experience at the hotel.

Mama Root provided excellent value for money with a comfortable and stylishly furnished room. The location was stunning and peaceful, with beautiful ocean views and a pristine white beach. The staff, particularly Olivia, were friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay special.
Menu for breakfast could use a bit more variety to offer more options to guests.
